Hypoglycemia XP for HCPs app for iPhone and iPad

Gain a perspective on hypoglycemia with the Hypoglycemia Virtual Experience app. The Hypoglycemia Virtual Experience app is a simulation of selected hypoglycemic symptoms and is intended for health care professionals (HCPs) only. This simulation is intended only to provide an example of what a patient with type 2 diabetes may experience during a hypoglycemic episode. Some patients who experience hypoglycemia may not experience any symptoms at all, whereas others may experience multiple symptoms.

The app provides a unique opportunity to use technology native within the iPad to engage HCPs in learning more about hypoglycemia in type 2 diabetes. Three common mild-to-moderate hypoglycemic symptoms can be experienced with the app—confusion, blurred vision, and dizziness.

The Hypoglycemia Virtual Experience includes:
• Three virtual experiences that mimic an everyday task (eg, writing an e-mail) that may be interrupted by symptoms of hypoglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes
• Thought-provoking and up-to-date facts and statistics about hypoglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes
• Quiz questions that aim to further engage and empower HCPs with more knowledge about hypoglycemia
